Debuting in 1995, the Air Max 95 — designed by Sergio Lozano — was the first sneaker from Nike to feature a visible Air unit in the forefoot (in addition to heel Air), marking a bold technical and aesthetic shift. Its design is inspired by human anatomy: the layered panels echo muscle fibres, the mid-foot shank represents a spine, and the lace/rib-like eyelets derive from a rib-cage concept. Since then, the “OG” variants have become a staple — mixing performance-running tech with streetwear appeal.
